“A video collage reflecting on the raw moments of the 2014 Ferguson riots. A film for the wild ones, the anarchists, and the dreamers…”
Join us for a virtual screening of “Touch the Sky” on Saturday, August 29th @ 7 pm! The film takes a look into the uprisings after the murder of Mike Brown in Ferguson, Missouri on August 9th, 2014 with on-the-scene footage of the aftermath in St. Louis. The filmmakers contacted us before the pandemic to organize a Eugene stop on their film promotion tour. The tour was canceled but we’re still showing the film at their request. There will be time for an informal discussion after the film. The doc is ~110 minutes long.
This screening will be conducted over Kast, a tool that allows for group viewing and discussion. You’ll need to make an account to join (Sorry, it was the best tool we could find). Please arrive on time so we have time to work out technical issues. We will be starting the film by 7:15 pm. You’ll be able to join the event here: https://neighborhoodanarchists.org/watchtouchthesky
You can find the trailer here: https://archive.org/details/touch-the-sky-trailer
(The doc is also available online for free if you’d like to share this movie: https://archive.org/details/touch-the-sky)
Warning: Some footage may be graphic for viewers.
