From Decriminalize Homelessness:

CALL TO ACTION: PROTEST TO STOP THE SWEEPS ON TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 8:30am.

Show up in solidarity and witness the City of Eugene’s planned sweep/eviction of a homeless encampment on the North bank of the Willamette River on state-owned (ODOT) land. Residents do not want to leave, have nowhere to go, and have asked for public support for their right to remain in place.

Bring camera, water, food to share with our unhoused neighbors, and signs, with messages like “Stop the Sweeps”, “Sweeps Kill”, “Rest not Arrest”, “People have a Right to Rest”, “Follow CDC Guidelines”, “Housing Not Handcuffs.”

Folks living there have asked for witnesses from the housed community. Please feel free to film the cops and city workers at all times. DO NOT film/take pictures of our unhoused neighbors without first getting their consent.
