As the global climate crisis spirals out of control, fossil fuel pipeline construction in at least two dozen US states has been facing fierce resistance. But police and corporate mercenaries are often meeting these struggles with violent repression–especially the indigenous-led rebellion against the Dakota Access Pipeline in 2016-17. Meanwhile, politicians throughout the country have also passed laws further criminalizing pipeline protest.
