DESCRIPTION:The Welcome Gatherings are a seasonal meeting to welcome new people to the collective and come together to learn what people are working on\, gather advice\, and discuss projects. \nWhen: Sunday September 17th 5-7pm\nIn person: University Park unless it’s smokey (Check back here the week of to confirm the location)\nOnline: https://meet.mayfirst.org/nacpublic (Use Chrome for best results) \n5-5:30pm will be a potluck! Bring food\, utensils\, tupperware\, and a chair if you’d like\, but no pressure. The meeting portion will start at 5:30. \nIf you can’t make this meeting but would still like to be involved you can contact us here: https://neighborhoodanarchists.org/get-involved/ \nWe ask that everyone wear a mask to indoor meetings (or you can attend digitally) \nAccessibility: NAC strives to have our meetings be accessible to everyone. SUMMARY:UofO YDS Comrade Movie Night
DESCRIPTION:On January 14th\, 5pm at University Park\, we’re presenting a short lecture by Micheal Esealuka\, the Co-Chair of DSA New Orleans\, on the Alabama Sharecroppers Union and Communist Part organizing in the southeast during the Great Depression. After\, we’ll have a community discussion on the topic. We’re also presenting excerpts of the Southern Worker to bring the obscured voices of Black radicals into the present. We are also collecting canned food for local food pantries. \nCome join us to learn and discuss using mutual aid\, community defense\, tenant organizing\, and unions to fight the boss\, landlord\, and white supremacy!
