The Eugene Free Skool has created this new zine about mending by hand!
The radical act of mending is an eco-friendly, anti-consumer, anti-capitalist, and embodied practice. It is a work of care that translates aesthetics into action. In this zine, you will get an introduction to hand mending, an act of repair that allows for the personalizing of items without a sewing machine, flipping the power structure of couture fashion from top-down to bottom-up.
This zine is intended as an introduction to the art and practice of hand mending. It is not an all-encompassing guide. Here visible mending refers to stitches and patches that are clearly seen. These mends will not be perfect, think of them as works of self-expression which help to strengthen and improve the longevity of your items.
