SUMMARY:Fight Dystopia\, Demand Utopia!
DESCRIPTION:This is a panel on this history\, structure\, and goals of Demand Utopia\, an international network of community organizers interested in the philosophy of Social Ecology. We are inspired by the Revolution in Rojava\, an experiment in radical democracy currently taking place in an autonomous region of northern Syria\, and will discuss some of the international solidarity work we have organized in support of Rojava. \nWe are also part of an emerging continental federation of like minded community organizations called Symbiosis. One of the member groups of Symbiosis is Cooperation Jackson\, who is doing some amazing work around building neighborhood assemblies and a locally controlled solidarity economy in Jackson\, Mississippi. We will share some of their work\, and our efforts to emulate them with our local chapter in Portland called Symbiosis PDX. \nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/400791990754923/

SUMMARY:Public Gathering
DESCRIPTION:The Public Gatherings are a space to welcome new people\, explain about NAC\, talk about what we’re doing\, and hear what others want to work on or discuss. \nAgenda: https://cryptpad.fr/pad/#/1/edit/RiUlEjkN4PknBYFFrLgVBg/I5IFQtoqKAbVu9Ymp-9e7kB-/ \nWe at NAC recognize that our society is dominated by intersecting oppressive power structures\, including capitalism\, the state\, white supremacy\, cis-hetero-patriarchy\, and ablism. We are committed to intersectional action in all that we do. \nNAC welcomes everyone. Our meetings are ADA accessible. If you have any questions or accessibility needs please contact us. \nChildcare may be available at the gathering. If you’d like childcare please email childcare@neighborhoodanarchists.org.

SUMMARY:Radical Imagination Conference
DESCRIPTION:This conference explores formats to address\, fabricate and discuss social transformation that challenge the standard model of an academic conference. It invites participants to create a common space for radical imagination and social justice that goes beyond a skill-share for radical organizers. Radical Imagination invites us to engage in a profound critique of what seems obvious (radical = that goes to the roots of something) and to explore alternative ways of living together – producing\, loving\, shaping spaces and time\, inhabiting the land\, working\, using\, struggling. It is an appeal to decolonize social relations and the dominant imaginaries that justify oppression and injustice. Radical Imagination is not just about dreaming alternative futures. It lures us into embodying alternatives in practices\, actions\, and thinking. \n NAC will be tabling\, maybe carpooling

SUMMARY:Decolonizing your Activism Part 2: On Becoming Better Allies
DESCRIPTION:Sweetwater is an Idle No More activist who advocates for the protection of the fragile environment of the Northwest Coast\, for tribal sovereignty rights\, and the traditional way of life of Native people. She conducts Idle No More ‘Decolonizing Our Activism’ workshops in a respectful way that is both healing and empowering. \nPart one is not necessary in order to attend part two. SUMMARY:CLDC @ PIELC: Political Repression and Corporate Surveillance in the Era of Climate Crisis
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, March 1st 3pm-4:15pm @ EMU 104 \nAs the global climate crisis spirals out of control\, fossil fuel pipeline construction in at least two dozen US states has been facing fierce resistance. But police and corporate mercenaries are often meeting these struggles with violent repression–especially the indigenous-led rebellion against the Dakota Access Pipeline in 2016-17. Meanwhile\, politicians throughout the country have also passed laws further criminalizing pipeline protest. Join Civil Liberties Defense Center Executive Director Lauren Regan and investigative journalist Will Parrish as they survey the landscape of anti-pipeline struggles in North America — including the campaign against the Pacific Connector Pipeline in Southern Oregon \nPanelists: Lauren Regan\, Civil Liberties Defense Center; Will Parrish\, Investigative Journalist
