SUMMARY:Solidarity Share Fair: A Really Free Market
DESCRIPTION:***** Note: This information is different than normal for the COVID-19 Crisis. Please read carefully. ***** \nWhat are we doing for the Share Fair?\nMarch 31st 3-5pm \nWe are setting up four Share Fair stations where we will distribute pre-made bags of fast grab-and-go resources. Locations: \n\nHand washing station near Eugene library\nPearl day spa\nHand washing station near Red barn\nSpringfield bus station\n\nWe will be taking extra precautions for the health of volunteers and people receiving resources. \nDonation Wish List\nWe could use the following items: \n\nBags\nSandwich bags\nHand sanitizer\nGloves\nAnti viral masks\nLiquid vitimin  d\nEmergencyC packets\nVitimin C\nTo go cups with lids\nIndividually wrapped plastic ware\nGranola bars / Protein bars\nOther easy grab-and-go foods\n\nPlease contact sharefair@neighborhoodanarchists.org to coordinate donations \nVolunteer\nWe need volunteers to run the stations and distribute resources. \n*** Obviously please do not volunteer if you are feeling ill or think you’ve been exposed to someone who has the virus. *** \nSign Up To Volunteer!\n*** Please fill out the form! We actually need to know this time. We need to know if we have enough volunteers to run each station and we need to limit the number of people at each station. So please fill out the form. Do not just show up to volunteer the day of the Share Fair. *** \nError: Contact form not found. \nNotes for volunteering\n\nAsk for help – If you don’t know something or need any assistance ask another volunteer\, a section coordinator\, someone with a radio\, or at the welcome table for help. \nEscalation – If tensions are rising ask someone with a radio to call for a peacekeeper. Err on the side of calling for a peacekeeper early even if it’s not necessary yet. \nTake breaks! – We want this to be a fun event for everyone. Take breaks as needed. \nBe collaborative – The other volunteers are here to help!\n\nHow to deal with tough interactions\nThe vast majority of interactions are great and people are very appreciative & thankful. However the people attending the event have very stressful lives just trying to survive and taking care of their basic needs and sometimes there might be people who are stressed/upset and we want to make sure we create a safe place and everyone is respected. \nBelow are some tips to have better conversations when dealing with a tough interaction. Please only do what is comfortable for you and seek support when you need it. \n\nUse a buddy system\nGet support from other volunteers if you don’t feel comfortable\nBreathe\nStay Calm: It will be easier for the other person to calm down if you remain calm\nDon’t argue with people.\nDon’t take things personally. You don’t need to correct the record or set them straight.\nAssume the best of people\nRecognize that people might be having a rough day and are often harassed. We want to create a safe welcoming place for them.\nListen actively: let them know you understand their point of view and reflect it back so they know you heard them.\nDon’t shush them or tell them to calm down.\nClick here to learn more about de-escalation\n\nThank you!\nWe really appreciate you volunteering time for this important event. The Share Fair couldn’t happen without you. \nWe want to know how to make volunteering as easy\, productive\, and enjoyable as possible. After you volunteer please send us some feedback! \nThere are volunteer opportunities in between the share fair days too (seeking donations\, coordinating services\, making art\, etc)! Let us know if you’re interested in helping out! Email us at sharefair@neighborhoodanarchists.org

SUMMARY:Solidarity Share Fair: A Really Free Market
DESCRIPTION:Events\n\n\n\n\nThe Share Fair connects people with resources\, services\, and each other in a convenient and fun way. \nThe purpose of the Share Fair is to connect people with resources\, services\, and each other in a convenient and fun way. The fair will be providing free resources and services from local organizations and community groups to unhoused and working class members of the community. There will be food\, live music\, games\, and a chance to know other Eugene organizations and folks in the community – and it’s all free! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDonate to the Share Fair!\n\n\n\nVolunteer at Share Fair!\n\n\n\nProvide a Service!\n\n\n\n\n\nNext Share Fair Details\nTBD \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe could use the following supplies:\n\nSeasonally appropriate clothes and accessories (T-shirts\, button-up shirts\, slacks\, sweatpants\, jeans\, hats\, socks\, shoes\, boots\, underwear)\nHygiene products (toothbrushes\, toothpaste\, pads\, tampons\, toilet paper\, deodorant\, travel-size soaps and shampoos\, Menstrual hygiene supplies)\nTents\nTarps\nSleeping bags\nSleeping mats\nBackpacks\, bags\nBoots\nBlankets\nCamping gear\nWater bottles\nFirst aid supplies\nFlashlights\nBatteries\nPocket sewing kits\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow to Donate\nAt the Share Fair: You can bring donations to the share fair the day of the event. We'll take donations 11am - 3pm.\n\nDrop off in advance: Dark Pine Coffee (954 Pearl St). Starting in October.\n\nEmail to arrange pickup/drop off: You can email donations@neighborhoodanarchists.org to arrange pick up or drop off\n\n\nServices we're looking for:\n\nSimple medical services\nHaircuts\nMassage\nJob skills\, resumes\nFoot care\nBike repair\nGames\nShoe repair\nEye exams\nLegal advice\nCar repair\nSewing/ mending\n\nLet us know about the service you'd like to provide on our service interest page\, or email us at sharefair@neighborhoodanarchists.org. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy Share Fair:\n Our event aims to go beyond the experience of handing someone a sandwich when they are hungry\, we create a space where people are welcomed to join in community. We provide music\, haircuts\, massage\, bike repair\, resume support\, first aid\, warm meals and empathy to folks who are often pushed away.  Additionally\, we offer the opportunity to speak with representatives from health care\, counseling\, and housing services. Through building connections and empowering guests to get involved and volunteer\, we are changing the dynamic of our neighborhoods. We rescue food\, clothing\, shoes\, toiletries\, backpacks\, sleeping bags/camping gear\, and much more from various locations to then redistribute to people in need. With more and more of our neighbors being effected by the housing crisis and food insecurity\, we need events such as the Share Fair now\, more than ever. \nEvents such as the share fair are necessary because capitalism is failing people. Those who don’t conform to the dominant economic model are discarded by society and the government is unable to provide the sort of care we can provide for each other. One of the principles of anarchism is that members of a community see what needs to be done and take responsibility for doing it themselves. In that spirit\, Share Fair is organized by the consensus model; no one leads or follows\, instead\, all work together toward a common goal. We hope to show that it’s possible to take action without the government and to cooperate without hierarchy while still being effective (or being more effective). \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSign up for Updates\nWant to be notified when the next Share Fair is scheduled? Sign up here for updates. Note: If you're interested in volunteering\, please fill out the volunteer form here. \n\n \n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n\n \nWe love feedback!\nPlease let us know how we're doing and how we could do better! \nAttendee Survey - Have you already been to the Share Fair? We want to know your thoughts! Volunteer Survey - Previously volunteered? We appreciate feedback on your experience! Contact us - Other ideas or feedback? Please contact us!

SUMMARY:J20 documentary "Conspiracy to Riot" and potluck
DESCRIPTION:J20 Video Screening + Potluck\nThursday\, Jan 23 | 6 – 9 PM\n@McNail-Riley House \nSome folks are getting together for a screening of Conspiracy to Riot by the collective Trouble. \nPeople are welcome to bring food or a small snack to share if they like\, but please consider the clean up and general ease of serving what you bring if you do. Plant-based and/or gluten-free encouraged but all food is welcome. There is a kitchen and bathrooms available in the building. \nIt’s a <40 minute video and there will be time for discussion after the screening. Below is a synopsis of the video. \n“TROUBLE #16: CONSPIRACY TO RIOT\nOn January 20th\, 2017\, Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States of America. Following his inaugural address\, as the upper echelons of the American political establishment mingled on the National Mall\, several blocks away\, a riot was breaking out. A black bloc several hundred strong was wreaking havoc on the streets. The bloc was part of the anti-capitalist and anti-fascist march\, one component of a broader day of protests organized under the umbrella #DisruptJ20. Armed with spray paint\, crowbars and rocks\, this mob smashed windows\, clashed with police and redecorated a limo that would eventually be put to the torch. The police repression was swift. Amidst the haze of pepper spray and flashbangs\, over two hundred protesters were kettled\, and arrested by DC’s Metro Police. \nSo began one of the most important political trials in recent history. In an effort to set a chilling precedent for anti-Trump resistance\, the US Department of Justice charged over 200 people with eight separate felony charges\, threatening them with upwards of 80 years in prison. In her crusade to paint the J20 black bloc as one giant conspiracy to riot\, federal Prosecutor Jennifer Kerkhoff filed warrants to seize people’s digital data\, and entered into an alliance with discredited far-right media outfits peddling doctored evidence. Faced with this repressive array of state power\, J20 defendants responded with unflinching solidarity\, setting a new standard for political defense in the age of Trump. This is their story.” \nThere are 5 parking spots available for the McNail-Riley house but if those are full then please park on the street or at the Fairgrounds. \nThis event is public\, so don’t forget to invite friends and comrades!
